Which one do you love more:
Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley?
I get asked this question all the time on my TikTok. During my time here in Orlando, Florida, I have explored every nook and cranny of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the Universal Orlando Resort.
Everyone constantly debates which area is the best, and today I am giving my take on Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
Let's start with the little village Hogwarts students visit during the school year, Hogsmeade.
Pros:
You cannot beat the view Hogsmeade provides of the Hogwarts castle.
The Hog's Head bar next to the Three Broomsticks is incredible.
Honeydukes is stocked up with delicious, enchanted sweets.
Cons:
I think the pathways are extremely narrow. I feel very claustrophobic when I walk through Hogsmeade.
It is one single pathway, unlike Diagon Alley, where you explore many different paths.
There are not many places to sit down.
Let's move on to the shopping area where all wizards and witches buy their school supplies before a new school year, Diagon Alley.
Pros:
I love that it feels like three separate areas instead of a tiny pathway like Hogsmeade.
Knockturne Alley may be for dark wizards and witches, but this Ravenclaw loved seeing the creepy shops.
There were tons of places to practice your wand skills with your interactive wand.
Ollivander's Wand Shop experience is pretty cool. You get to see someone choose their wand and have the complete Harry Potter magical moment. Side Note: There is also a wand shop in Hogsmeade.
The principal, large pathway of Diagon Alley has the unforgettable GIANT fire-breathing dragon on top of Gringotts.
The Hopping Pot is an excellent bar in Diagon Alley with unique drinks such as Tongue Tying Lemon Squash, Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice, Peachtree Fizzing Tea, Fishy Green Ale, and our Wizard’s Brew and Dragon Scale beers.
There are tons of shopping options: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Madam Malkin's Robes, and Quality Quidditch Supplies.
Cons:
My one critique is that there is only one ride that really is worth going on in Diagon Alley, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.
Y'all, I have to admit that the best is Diagon Alley.
Let me know what you think in the comments! I would love to hear what your favorite area is in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
