As a special surprise for my birthday, my friends planned a Disney World Animal Kingdom trip! I even got to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, where giraffes roamed and gave me a fantastic view every morning.
During my birthday trip, we dined at the newly reopened restaurant Tusker House! I was so excited to eat there, and it was also my first time at the restaurant.
Tusker House is typically a buffet, so at the moment, they bring you all the food they offer in the usual buffet. For example, you get a bread service with some dips, a gorgeous salad, a massive platter of different meats (chicken, pork, steak, shrimp curry), yummy jasmine rice, and tons of delicious veggies.
The soft drinks and ice tea is included in the price for your meal, which is incredible. Tusker House also has a full cocktail menu. The African Margaritas was stellar!
The desserts were divine! I really loved the tree of life chocolate. It was delicious.
I had no idea they offered character dining, so I lost my mind when I started seeing the characters come out in their safari wear. What's cool is that you can go and take photos with them now too if you keep a little distance. The characters came out about five times during our meal.
One thing to know is that cast members cannot take photos of you. I offered to take pictures of a lovely couple who sat next to us so they could have photos with both of them in it.
I definitely recommend dining at the Tusker House when you go to Disney World Animal Kingdom.
